Fiação do cão ( búlgaro : тричане на куче (та), trichane nd kuche (ta)) é um ritual praticado no primeiro dia da Quaresma , na aldeia de Brodilovo no sudeste da Bulgária .
Na fiação do cão, um cão é suspenso sobre a água em uma corda. O cão é ligado repetidamente numa dada direção para enrolar a corda, depois libertado de modo que ele gira rapidamente na direção oposta, como os desenrola. Este antigo ritual de origem pagã foi realizado a fim de evitar a raiva . [1]
Uma referência a esta prática em Inglês está em um comunicado de imprensa emitido pelo Partido Verde do Reino Unido , emitido em 29 de julho de 2005. Ele inclui uma declaração do Partido Verde, deputado Dr. Caroline Lucas , vice-presidente da RSPCA e suprapartidário do Parlamento Europeu Animal Welfare Intergrupo. Dr. Lucas criticou como sendo cruel para os cães, dizendo que "cão-de giro é uma prática bárbara e não devem ser autorizadas a continuar no século 21."
Jornal sueco Aftonbladet relatou a prática em março de 2005. [2]
A "Sofia Echo" relatou a prática em março de 2011.
A prática do ritual foi proibido pelo prefeito de Tsarevo em 2006 [3] , após queixas por búlgaros bem-estar animal organizações. [4]

A tradição búlgara de "dog spinning" ou “trichane na kuche” é por excelência a prova de que a estupidez humana e a crueldade não tem limites!
Dog spinning é um ritual, que é realizado uma vez por ano, em 06 de março para evitar a raiva em uma aldeia e afastar os maus espíritos da primavera.
Durante este ritual, uma corda é enrolada em torno de um cão e o animal é suspenso sobre um corpo de água, tal como um rio. O cão é ligado repetidamente até que a corda esteja torcido na medida em que irá bobinar. Em seguida, a bobina é liberada de modo que o cão gira descontroladamente conforme as cordas e desenrola o animal que entra na água.
Nada é suposto acontecer com os cães utilizados no ritual, mas as fotos de cão girando dias anteriores mostram os rostos de animais aterrorizados e como eles ficam impotentes acima de um rio ou riacho, com uma multidão de pessoas aplaudindo a partir da costa. Nos passado cães se afogavam, porque eles estavam desorientados quando caiam na água.
A prática foi interrompida em 2005 quando a mídia fora da Bulgária descobriu sobre o ritual e relatou-o ao mundo. O Bem-estar animal que estava indignado com sua crueldade, colocou pressão sobre a Bulgária para pôr fim à prática.
Mas o prefeito de Brodilovo, uma aldeia rural da Bulgária, foi prorrogado o antigo ritual em 2011. Ele disse, “Ninguém está a matar ou ferir os cães. Eles são trazidos por seus proprietários que os amam, a fim de participar deste ritual folclore, que se destina a limpar a comunidade local do mal e para gerar a fertilidade. Os cães são centrifugados durante cerca 15-20 segundos, e depois eles caem na água, o que equivale a banhar-los.”

Mayor Petko Arnaudov disse ao Sofia News Agency que “a sociedade e a comunidade internacional interpretaram mal o ritual.”
O prefeito disse que em sua aldeia a tradição é restaurada, porque eles estavam olhando para a esperança no “extremo” da economia ruim. Um recente surto de febre aftosa trouxe a cidade agrícola à beira do desespero.
Em 2012, devido aos protestos em massa e sitiada por ativistas dos direitos dos animais, os moradores de Brodilovo concordaram em diluir o controverso dog spinning. Dias antes da data especial, o búlgaro "Animal Rescue Sofia" NGO anunciou que vai organizar uma visita a Brodilovo, para garantir que o "dog spinning" não ocorra em 6 de março.
Mas, para a surpresa de todos, os moradores não podiam esperar até 6 de março, e no dia 25 de fevereiro - sob os olhos críticos de ativistas dos direitos dos animais de Sofia e Burgas - o povo de Brodilovo optou por uma versão mais suave do ritual e só jogou o cão na água gelada sem girar em uma corda :( Infelizmente, o vídeo mostrando a versão "suavizada" já não está disponível em youtube.)
De A tinha começado uma petição no ano passado que temos mantido aberto e que continua a recolher assinaturas... apenas para o caso em que os moradores de Brodilovo venham com a idéia de reviver a versão antiga novamente.

The Bulgarian tradition of "dog spinning" or “trichane na kuche” is THE proof par excellence that human stupidity and cruelty has no limits!
Dog spinning is a ritual, that was performed once a year on March 6 to prevent rabies in a village and keep away the bad spirits of springtime.
During this ritual, a rope is wrapped around a dog and the animal is suspended above a body of water, such as a river. The dog is turned repeatedly until the rope is twisted as far as it will coil. Then the coil is released so the dog spins wildly as the rope unwinds and the animal falls into the water.
Nothing is supposed to happen to the dogs used in the ritual, but photos from previous dog spinning days show the faces of terrified animals as they hang helplessly above a river or stream with a crowd of people cheering from the shore. In the past dogs have drowned because they are so disoriented when they drop into the water.
The practice was stopped in 2005 when the media outside of Bulgaria found out about the ritual and reported it to the world. Animal welfare organizations were outraged by its cruelty and the pressure they put on Bulgaria put an end to the practice.
But the mayor of Brodilovo, a rural Bulgarian village, had renewed the ancient ritual in 2011. He said, “Nobody is killing or hurting the dogs. They are brought by their owners who love them in order to take part in this folklore ritual, which is meant to cleanse the local community of evil and to generate fertility. The dogs are spun for about 15-20 seconds, and then they fall in the water, which amounts to bathing them.”

Mayor Petko Arnaudov told the Sofia News Agency that “society and the international community has misinterpreted the ritual.”
The mayor said his village restored the tradition because they were looking for hope in the “extreme” bad economy. A recent outbreak of foot and mouth disease has brought the farming town to the brink of despair.
In 2012, due to MASSIVE protests and besieged by animal rights activists, the villagers of Brodilovo had agreed to water down their controversial dog spinning. Days before the special date, the Bulgarian "Animal Rescue Sofia" NGO announced it would organize a visit to Brodilovo, to make sure the "dog spinning" does not take place on 6th of March.
But, to the surprise of everybody, the villagers could not wait until 6th of March, and on 25th of February - under the critical eyes of animal rights activists from Sofia and Burgas - the people of Brodilovo opted for a softer version of the ritual and just threw the dog into the icy water without spinning it on a rope :( Unfortunately, the video showing the "softened version" is no longer available on youtube.
OfA had started a petition last year which we have kept open and that continues to collect signatures... just for the event that the villagers of Brodilovo come to the idea to revive the old version again.

BULGÁRIA - a bestialidade humana contra os cães - Trichane
Anualmente, na Bulgária, no distrito de Brodilovo, região sudoeste do país, acontece um espetáculo coletivo de sadismo, crueldade e ignorância denominado Trichane. (dog spinning ou rotação de cães)
Nesta demonstração de ignorância e sadismo, cães são içados no ar por uma corda, que é intensamente girada pelos presentes.
Atingido o máximo de rotação possível da corda, ela então é largada, de forma a que o animal gire e caia sobre um trecho de água abaixo.
Este ritual macabro, de origem pagã, supostamente é destinada ao combate da hidrofobia (raiva) na região.
Tem-se notícia de que isto exista desde 1856, tal como relatado por visitantes britânicos.
Proibido por alguns anos, os habitantes desta cidade retornaram a esta prática __ anteriormente extensiva a toda a Bulgária, sendo que os cães eram anteriormente espancados até a morte, em sua "versão original").
